The problem
The seven-year-old website drew the wrong enquiries: homeowners asking about small rooftop systems.
The commercial and industrial buyers Sunbird wanted, who compare several installers before they agree to a call, saw nothing at their scale: no engineering depth, no sectors served and no idea of the numbers.
What was built
A brand refresh, and a site rebuilt from scratch around the question every commercial buyer has: what would this save us?
- Brand refresh
- Sunbird’s logo refreshed and its brand carried through the whole new site.
- Home page
- Sunbird’s offer, the sectors it serves and its project record, with one primary action: book a feasibility call.
- ROI calculator
- Five steps: facility, energy, operating profile, configuration and results. It estimates system size, annual savings and payback, and shows the modelling assumptions beside the calculator.
- Navigation by need
- Services, industries and projects, so a mining buyer and a retail buyer each find their own proof quickly.
- Service, industry and region pages
- Fourteen pages, so a buyer lands on their own sector, service or province, with the projects listed from the live project data.
- Case study downloads
- A one-page case study PDF for download, starting with Jubilee Mall.
- 1Facilityroof area and province
- 2Energyhow much the site uses
- 3Profileoperating hours and days
- 4Configurationthe system to model
- 5Resultssize, savings and payback

On a phone. Results, default inputs
Results are for the calculator’s default inputs: a KwaZulu-Natal site on business hours, weekdays, solar PV only.
The result, and what the client says
“Luke rebuilt our website and the systems we now use to run the business, from the board dashboard to procurement. He’s run companies himself, so everything he builds fits the way we actually work.”
